For me, this was the most powerful image in Still. This is the part that gave me the most chills and brought on the biggest onslaught of tears. Just before a commercial break, Kate has told Rick that she loves him. She’s bared her soul and finally communicated her true feelings. And now she’s alone. About to die. Seemingly helpless to do anything to stop it from happening. It seems, to her, that this is it; this is her last stand. Her head is bowed, her posture is defeated, her tears are real (okay, you can’t see the tears in this screencap, but you could in the ones just before it, so I’m making the not-so-giant leap of faith that they are still rolling down her cheeks). This is one hell of a powerful moment. The cinematography is perfection. Stana’s portrayal is perfection. This episode is perfection.
